UFC Gym is a global fitness franchise that serves as an extension of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) brand. It is known for its "Train Different" philosophy, which blends traditional gym equipment with the dynamic training methods of MMA athletes. The gym's most popular offerings are its signature group fitness classes, particularly the high-intensity Daily Ultimate Training (DUT), along with MMA-inspired classes like boxing, kickboxing, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. As of May 2025, the most affordable membership is a basic "Fitness" plan, often starting between $60 and $80 per month, while the most comprehensive "Champion" memberships, which include unlimited classes, can cost over $100 per month. The brand occupies a unique space, competing with big-box gyms like LA Fitness, boutique studios like Title Boxing Club, 9Round, Fit Body Boot Camp, Orangetheory Fitness, and traditional martial arts dojos.
The UFC Gym membership model is typically tiered, offering access to different levels of amenities and classes. All memberships include access to a full range of cardio machines, strength training equipment, and free weights. Higher-tier memberships grant access to the gym's signature features, including a functional fitness turf area, heavy bags, and sometimes a full-sized octagon. The core of the experience lies in its class offerings, which range from high-energy HIIT and strength classes to authentic martial arts training coached by experienced instructors. This creates a high-energy, results-driven community environment that welcomes members of all fitness levels, from beginners to seasoned athletes.
UFC Gym was founded in 2009 as a partnership between New Evolution Ventures (co-founded by Mark Mastrov, the founder of 24 Hour Fitness) and the UFC, then led by Dana White and the Fertitta brothers. The vision was to create a fitness facility that would make the elite training programs and techniques of UFC fighters accessible to everyone. The concept was to build a community where members could achieve their fitness goals in a motivating and empowering environment, far removed from a typical, monotonous gym routine. The brand grew rapidly through a franchise model, expanding across the United States and internationally.
Today, UFC Gym has grown into a major global fitness brand with over 150 locations in more than 35 countries. It has successfully leveraged the massive brand recognition of the UFC to create a unique and appealing fitness product. By offering a hybrid model that combines the best of traditional gyms, boutique classes, and specialized MMA training, UFC Gym has carved out a distinct and powerful identity in the crowded global fitness industry.
